To enhance employees’ professional skills and strengthen our core capabilities in vaccine testing, on June 25, Chongqing Aolong Biological Products Co., Ltd. conducted a TCID test. 50 The hands-on competition was successfully held. With the theme “Precise Operation, Scientific Judgment,” this event combined theoretical training with practical competitions, showcasing the employees’ solid professional competence and their rigorous awareness of biosafety.
I. Theoretical Foundation: Professional Training Lays a Solid Skill Base
On June 11, the theoretical training for the competition was launched first. Teacher Yang XueLi from the Quality Management Department was specially invited to serve as the keynote speaker. Teacher Yang XueLi focused on TCID. 50 A systematic explanation of the core concepts and measurement principles underlying the “half-organ culture infection assay” was provided, with a particular focus on the key steps involved in practical implementation—from setting up virus dilution gradients and preparing cell culture plates to controlling incubation conditions, observing results, and paying attention to potential pitfalls during the calculation process. The competition scoring criteria were also explained in detail. The total score is 100 points, with the following weightings: operational standardization (60%), result accuracy (20%), biosafety compliance (10%), and completeness of experimental records (10%). This provides clear guidance for contestants on how to focus their efforts.
At the training site, Ding Feng, a QC officer from the Quality Management Department, provided a comprehensive operational demonstration and offered instruction on details such as "how to avoid cross-contamination" and "the precise use of micropipettes." The employees who signed up to participate diligently took notes and actively asked questions, ensuring they were fully prepared for the upcoming competition.

II. Practical Competition: Rigorous Standards Demonstrate Professional Competence
June 25, TCID 50 The hands-on competition officially kicked off in the large conference room on the third floor of the company’s administrative building. The competition was personally presided over by Production Director Liu Xin. The 23 contestants were required to independently complete the entire workflow—from virus dilution to cell inoculation—within the stipulated time, strictly adhering to biosafety protocols throughout: wearing proper protective gear, disinfecting the work surface, precisely controlling each step of the procedure, and carefully managing timing. After fierce competition, all contestants successfully completed the virus inoculation portion of the experiment.

III. Result Determination: A Precision Battle Under the Microscope! — The “Pathological Code” Under the Microscope: The Observation Phase Reveals the True Nature of the Case.
A week later, the judging panel observed the culture results and was pleasantly surprised to discover: All 23 samples showed no signs of contamination. The contestants demonstrated both high-level biosafety awareness and exceptional operational proficiency, fully reflecting Aolong Bio’s stringent requirements for experimental standards and safety management.
In addition to the rigorous virus-inoculation process, observation of microscopic results and numerical calculations are equally crucial for success. Contestants must, under the full supervision of the judges, analyze cellular lesions through a microscope and convert their observations into precise data.
Before the microscope in the clean laboratory, the contestants faced the “ultimate test”: Each participant had to independently examine their own cell culture plates, distinguishing between “infected” and “uninfected” samples, and translating subtle microscopic changes into standardized records such as “+” and “-”. Subsequently, using the classic Reed-Muench formula, they input the data from various dilutions into the calculation, ultimately producing a complete TCID. 50 Numerical computation form. This stage not only tests professional judgment but also vividly highlights the rigor of experimental science—where "a difference of just a hair's breadth can lead to a world of error."
IV. Recognition and Incentives: Promoting Learning and Shared Growth Through Competitions
On July 10, the company held an award ceremony for the winning contestants at its staff meeting. After comprehensive evaluation, one first-prize winner, three second-prize winners, and five third-prize winners were selected. Production Director Liu Xin stated: “The TCID50 assay is one of the core skills in biopharmaceutical testing. This competition not only serves as a test of our employees’ professional capabilities but also provides a practical opportunity to ‘learn through competition and apply what we learn in practice.’ I hope all employees will take the winning contestants as role models, strive for excellence in their daily work, and firmly establish a strong defense for product quality.”

This TCID 50 The hands-on competition not only showcased the outstanding professional skills of Aolong Bio’s employees but also highlighted the company’s strong commitment to talent development and technological innovation. Through such competitions, the core capabilities in vaccine testing have been further strengthened, laying a solid foundation for the company’s steady growth in the field of veterinary biological products and propelling it toward higher-quality development goals. The competition also provided employees with a platform to showcase their talents, learn from one another, and make collective progress. During the competition, employees’ professional skills were honed and enhanced, while their rigorous work ethic and awareness of biosafety were deeply ingrained. This will empower employees to continually push beyond their limits in future work, achieving mutual growth—both personally and professionally—for the company. In the future, the company will continue to organize various skill competitions and training activities, gradually expanding the scale of these events to create a robust platform for employee growth and cultivate more highly qualified technical professionals for the veterinary biological products industry!
